Our Story
The Art Registry was founded in 2020 by Neha Khajuria, who after finishing her MBA in the US and working in the fashion & design industry in New York city, returned to India to pursue her passion to elevate Indian art to the global stage by bridging the gap between budding and established artists and art lovers. Through its online marketplace and offline events, The Art Registry offers a treasure trove of exquisitely talented and well-established contemporary artists alongside promising young and upcoming talents.
Our founder Neha Khajuria, took it upon herself to go to the heart our diverse cultural tapestry, where the exquisite and traditional art forms of India resided. In those tucked-away villages and hidden corners, she discovered the hidden gems of indigenous Indian art, including the awe-inspiring folk and tribal art that are poised for a global revival and made them accessible to the contemporary world.
In this quest, she scouted for young, talented girls from traditional art schools and sought out village artisans who had long been sidelined in the shadows of mainstream art circles. The Art Registry believed in giving these skilled artists the representation they deserved, providing them with the platform they lacked.
In addition to promoting Indian art, we understood the pressing issue of artists’ limited access to market, hence we passionately educated artists from across India by providing them with market insights, understanding buyer preferences and enabling them to expand their audience reach.The Art Registry’s ethos centres around promoting freedom of artistic expression and enlightening new collectors about the nuances of creating a cherished art collection with the right investment.
At The Art Registry, we recognise that people often find it challenging to take out time to visit art galleries, where they may only have a short span to decide whether they like a work or not. To address this challenge, we have a presence at some esteemed hotels, corporate offices and highly frequented places. By bringing our platform to these locations, we make it easy for art lovers to experience and appreciate the beauty of art in a comfortable and convenient setting.
